Learning at Home

Parents often ask,

"What more can I be doing at home with my child?"

Here is a great website with applications for iPad, iPhone and Android. These apps will be available to students on the iPads in our classroom. Feel free to download them for your child to continue to practice at home. Click the link below:

Apps for the Kindergarten Child

Reading ideas! Here are games and crafts that are easy to print or make at home. Get your child involved in the fun:

None of this is intended to overwhelm you. Do not feel like you must print or make all. Do not feel as if you should download 11 apps to your tablet or phone. Educational practice is important at home, but of course in moderation!

Enjoy!

The First Week

The First Week

Things to Know
  • We are learning (and sweating) :) - our classroom is warm. Please dress your child accordingly so they are comfortable.
  • We try to go outside twice a day for recess. It is important for children to wear sneakers so they are safe while running around and playing.
  • Please send your child with a snack and water bottle each day. We encourage children to drink water throughout the school day to stay hydrated.
  • A show and tell schedule will be going home today. Please observe

What are We Up To:
  • We start each morning with a math activity. We are counting objects and talking about numbers.
  • We have a morning meeting following our math activity. Here, we say good morning to one another, review our calendar and review our schedule for the day.
  • We are beginning show and tell to work on public speaking and student interaction.
  • We take part in stations each day to learn about our classroom. Here students working with letters, numbers, iPads, play-doh, as well as arts and crafts.
  • We are reading books as a class to practice how to sit on the rug.
